Recovery Coaching
through writing and creativity
Guided coaching for ongoing recovery and clarity.
I’m Chelene Knight, a Creative Practitioner and SHE RECOVERS® coach which means that I am trained in and my work aligns with the SHE RECOVERS® Intentions & Guiding Principles.
These private sessions use reflective writing to help you sustain growth, navigate transitions, and turn insight into action.
What is recovery coaching?
My recovery coaching sessions are designed for people who are already on their path of healing and growth and want support in sustaining that momentum. Recovery, to me, is not limited to substance use—it can mean navigating loss, life transitions, identity shifts, or simply emerging from a period of emotional fog. We are all recovering from something.
These sessions are not therapy, nor are they for those in acute crisis. Instead, they are for people who are ready to keep moving forward—who want to stay connected to themselves, to their progress, and to what’s possible next.
I use reflective writing and creative practices as tools for processing, pattern-tracking, and decision-making. Writing becomes a way to notice internal shifts, make meaning, and translate insight into action. You do not need to consider yourself a “writer” to benefit—just a willingness to engage in creative play, self-reflection, and intentional conversation.

Why work with me?
I’ve spent years exploring the connection between writing, recovery, and self-growth. As the author of five books, a certified SHE RECOVERS® coach, and a workplace mindfulness facilitator, I bring deep experience in holding space for people as they navigate change. My approach is compassionate, practical, and rooted in creative exploration and getting to know the whole person. Together, we’ll build a sustainable reflective practice that supports your recovery and your ongoing becoming.
How It Works
Every person who enters this space is offered a custom approach built around who they are—not a one-size-fits-all solution.
Together we will:
Establish a baseline: gently explore your current patterns, blocks, and priorities (this is the beginning of the self work).
Prescribe small practices: reflective writing, or shifts in mindset to help realign with your values. I’ve spent more than a decade building out my unique apothecary, which is essentially a huge database of resources, exercises, writing tools, self-exploration materials, publishing supports, courses, and more. I have a lot to pull from! I will stitch something together that uniquely fits … you.
Chart your course: from the above, we co-create a roadmap that meets you where you are—whether that’s preparing to shift into a new phase of life, recalibrating after a tough season (we are all recovering from something), or starting the seeds of something new.
Hold ongoing check-ins: through recurring sessions or in-between session messages, we adapt and evolve your plan as you grow.
